BatCave: Adding Security to the BATMAN Protocol ----------------------------------------------- Anne G. Bowitz 1, Espen G. Graarud 1, Lawrie Brown 2, Martin G. Jaatun 1 September 2011 1. UNSW@ADFA, Canberra, Australia Abstract This paper discusses the Better Approach To Mobile Ad-hoc Networking (BATMAN) protocol, that is intended as a replacement for protocols such as OLSR, but just like most such efforts, BATMAN has no built-in security features. We describe security extensions to BATMAN that control network participation and prevent unauthorized nodes from influencing network routing.
